Future-proof your business with solar power
Design-led commercial solar PV
How to approach solar power for your business
A solar power installation is only as good as the design behind it.
We start by understanding your goals — establishing how much electricity you use currently, your reasons for decarbonising, and understanding your usage patterns and how you could optimise your consumption.
Then, we survey your roof to assess the space, its sun exposure, and the efficiency that solar panels could achieve.
If your premises are not suitable for solar, we will always tell you so. However, more often than not, solar PV will unlock incredible savings in costs and emissions, and we use our modelling software to forecast how to maximise its potential on your roof.
We then share a proposed design for the solar array that will help you future-proof your energy.
Funding your solar installation with a power purchase agreement (PPA)
If cashflow means you cannot or prefer not to make the capital expenditure of buying solar panels outright, you can opt for a power-purchase agreement (PPA).
In that case, another party pays for your panels, and you agree to buy the electricity that they generate, at a set price, for a set period. When that contract ends, the panels become yours, and the electricity that they generate is free.
In partnership with Siemens Financial Services*, we offer power purchase agreements for businesses across the UK. Get in touch today for a no-obligation conversation about your decarbonisation goals, solar power, and whether a PPA is the right approach for your business’s solar power.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do we know if solar is right for us?
A survey will determine whether your roof will be able to accommodate the panels that your solar goals require. A legitimate installer will take the time to establish that, and will never rush you into a decision.
What do solar panels cost?
The price of your panels depends on many factors, including the size of installation you need and the properties of your roof and building. The overall cost also depends on factors like whether you claim capital allowances on the equipment, and whether you are eligible for grants in your region.
How can we fund a solar installation?
Other than paying outright, the most common funding methods are asset finance and power purchase agreements. Explore those and other approaches, including regional grants and reliefs, in this guide to funding a commercial solar installation.
Does our location mean we can’t use solar?
Businesses often worry that the location of their building means they cannot benefit from solar power. The good news is that solar power works in every region of the UK. The bigger factor is your building, and a survey will determine whether solar suits you or not.
Do we need battery storage for our solar panels?
Battery storage does not determine whether your solar installation works, but it may help you hit your green energy goals — it depends on what you want to achieve. For example, if you are aiming to be self-sufficient, battery storage can help you maintain an electricity supply to use in hours of darkness or low sun. When we discuss the aims for your solar project, we can advise whether battery storage should play a role.

How do we get started with a solar project?
The solar installation process with Innasol starts with a quick questionnaire to establish whether solar is viable for your business. After that, we will share a project proposal that outlines the system that your goals call for.
If you accept that proposal, then we perform a technical survey that allows us to refine the proposal, and establish any practical factors to account for in the installation, like roof access and potential hazards.
Then, once the full proposal is agreed and contracts signed, we install your panels.
