ETA Hack 200kW Biomass Boiler
Installation Partner: Dunster Biomass Heating
The client requested a system to minimise reliance on fossil fuels and maximise estate self-sufficiency. The principal requirement was to heat a large private house used for corporate entertainment and weddings which was costing in excess of £24,000 per year to heat with oil. The installation had to be sympathetic to the Grade A listed status of the site.
An ETA Hack 200kW boiler was installed in an extension to the listed stable block. A total of 250m of district heating main links this to the main house and three flats. Estate timber is chipped by a contractor once or twice per year into a bulk store on the estate farm and transferred to the biomass boiler by agricultural trailer. This tips the chips into a fast fill system which loads them into a chip hopper which holds around two weeks worth of chips at winter consumption rates.
